About Me

I have always loved photography.  As far back as I can remember, I was borrowing my dad’s camera and taking a variety of random pictures.  I tried my hand at capturing landscapes and architecture on the different trips we went on growing up.  I always enjoyed the process of taking the pictures, but the end results were never very compelling to me.

When I had my first baby, a whole new world opened up to me.  I finally found something to take pictures of that made me connect after I saw the end product.  The only problem was that my point and shoot camera wasn’t getting the pictures I wanted.  I began to try different photographers at the local chain studios to see if they could catch the little details of my son’s growing personality that I was missing.  The pictures were cute because they were my baby, but I still wasn’t happy with the quality.  I finally came to the conclusion that the only way I was going to get images that were up to my standards (and let’s face it, they are high) was if I took matters into my own hands.  I bought myself a professional digital camera and haven’t looked back.

I will admit that I am a bit of a techie geek.  Hey, I was a software engineer for 9 years, what can you expect.  In the time since I got my camera, that side of me has been consumed with learning the ins and outs of all of my equipment.   When I left my “day job”, the technicalities were becoming second nature to me.  Since then, I have found a whole new freedom to explore my creativity.   I have had such a great time running around after the kids and pets I photograph and creating images that capture their true personalities.

Our kids are only small for such a short time.  Looking back at the images I have made allows me to remember the silly phases my kids have  gone through that daily life washes away.  It has become my passion in life to not only capture pictures of my kids (including the furry ones), but also to do the same for others.
